> Services IGLO activities IGLO activities contribute to facilitate and to strengthen the interactions, exchange of information and cooperation between IGLO members, their national research systems and the European Institutions on issues related to EU RTD, in particular, the Framework Programme. Several activities are organised: “IGLO Core meetings”, “IGLO Open”, “IGLO Open special” “IGLO Working Groups” and “IGLO internal training sessions” IGLO Core IGLO Core is composed of all IGLO Members, represented by the Head of Office or deputy, with the strict limit of one representative per IGLO Member. IGLO Core meetings are held on a regular basis, every month, and are hosted by Members on the basis of a rotating schedule. On a consensus basis, IGLO Core assumes the following responsibilities: approval of the “rules of procedure”, appointment of the Secretary & the Secretariat, approval of any new Membership to IGLO ; approval of the plan of IGLO activities proposed by the Secretary; approval of Working groups; approval of written documents. Every
month, after the IGLO Core meeting, a session of information on issue
related to EU RDT is organised by the member hosting the IGLO Core meeting,
on a rotating schedule. IGLO open meetings involve relevant speakers,
especially from the European Commission and other institutions. IGLO open special It is organised by Working groups or any IGLO office which wants to initiate it. The participation is the same as for the usual IGLO open. IGLO working groups Working groups can be initiated by any Member and are established by IGLO Core. Working groups meet on a regular basis, are expertise pools and create special links with persons in the European Commission, European Parliament or in the European Council who are in charge of the issues they are following up. For the time being, 9 working groups are active: · FP7 monitoring · International co-operation · Security · Innovation · Mobility of researchers and code of conduct · European Research Council · European Technology Platforms / Joint Technology Initiatives · Training
ERA in Action IGLO introduced a new initiative, ERA in Action in 2003 as a means of facilitating the introduction and implementation of the European Research Area. ERA in Action aims to provide a discussion platform for research policy makers and research managers to share best practice and experience on subject areas of relevance to the European Research Area (ERA) and the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).
· The fifth meeting, held on 24 September 2008, focused on ex-post assessment of the impact of European FPs in the EU Member States in the sense of added value - mainly economic added value and impact on innovation and competitiveness at a national level. It concentrated on the methodologies and criteria selected for measuring of FPs impact and the existence of impact studies in different European countries and at a European level. Best practices and experienced problems were discussed during the round table discussion. You will find here the final report [A1] of the event as well as copies of the presentations [A2] [A3] [A4] [A5] [A6] given. · Simplified methods and certified methodologies in FP7 The fourth meeting, held on 6 December 2007, focused on key features of the simplified method and the certificate of methodology. The meeting followed up the event in January, giving the participants the opportunity to meet again, discuss the developments in financial management in FP7 so far as well as exchange views with a group of Commission officials.

The meeting brought together key people from universities/research institutes that were able to discuss their experience in the preparation / transition from additional cost model to full cost model

· Gender Action Plan for FP6
The second meeting, held on 29 March 2004, focused on "How to write a Gender Action Plan for FP6". The meeting brought together information disseminators with a specific interest in the gender dimension of FP6 and the Commission.

Consortium Agreement for FP6 The first meeting, held on 12 March 2003, focused on Consortium Agreement for FP6. The meeting brought together representatives from the consortia of researchers and research managers who are preparing model Consortium Agreements with key practitioners from across Europe, responsible for writing, implementing and managing Framework Programme Consortium Agreements for use in their research organisations.

IGLO sharing of information & best practices An IGLO Working group was settled during the 2nd semester 2006 in order to organise mutual learning activities and to exchange experiences on practical issues related on Framework programme. 7 sessions were organised: · Funding programmes & finding the right call · Marie Curie Schemes · Proposal preparation: consortium building, proposal writing, liaison with the EC, financial preparation · Evaluation Project & contract negotiations: contract preparation, consortium agreement and project negotiation · Project management technical matters and advanced financial issues (audits) · IPR Issues IGLO Spring session Once a year, IGLO organises an annual event called “spring reception” which is the opportunity to meet all IGLO contacts and networks in European institutions and other circles.
